Kolton : Class of 2025

I first knew Kolton as one of Maddux’s younger brothers and a really talented athlete on the football field and on the wrestling mat. Now, I’m happy to say, I know Kolton as the younger twin by 30 minutes, listens to a wide variety of musicians (Norah Jones and Phil Collins, what?), and is game for just about anything I ask of him with a camera in hand. And he likes to longboard AND FISH. Specifically, he likes river fishing in contrast to Kadan’s lake fishing because the river will keep the bobber moving - he doesn’t have to cast it as much as you would if you were lake fishing. I love learning about our students outside of the classroom!

We started on a lovely morning that was actually chilly - which is rare for Des Moines in August. Thankfully, the sun was strong and kept it tolerable:

Quick outfit change!

In between locations, I took his twin, Kadan, to his favorite fishing dock for a few photos and when we came back to the car, Kolton was asleep! That is probably a first for my photographic career - poor guys. I made them do an early photo shoot at the end of the first week of football practices. Makes note to self… But we ended the shoot in his happy place and had a blast!

These last couple images are the way I knew Kolton first - walking the halls with headphones on dressed out for Football Friday. Now, I have an inkling of what he’s listening to!!

Kolton - Thank you so much for enduring an early wake up call for these photos! You did a fantastic job and it was a delight to get to know you better. Best of luck with your senior seasons of football and wrestling, I know you’ll tackle them both with skill and enthusiasm!

Cheering you on,

Carrie
