Henry : Class of 2025
This morning could not have been more perfect for our blue-eyed friend, Henry! Not only did we start at 0545, but the cloud cover allowed us to get to all the locations we wanted to before the sun came out in full force. It was absolute perfection! When Henry said he was interested in pursuing architecture after high school, I immediately thought of the fun geometric shapes of the windows a the Historical Museum. Sadly, they’ve renovated since I was last there with another senior and those windows no longer exist, but we made some really fun and quirky compositions with what remained and had a stellar view of the capitol in the process!
After using the capitol and museum, we headed toward the trestle bridge and used symmetry and lead lines to our heart’s content!
A quick outfit change and we made great use of the black gate and walking along the river with some greenery mixed in. Loved using the arches of the bridges along the river in the background too! I think Henry’s architectural interests were satisfied?
Right as we were wrapping up downtown, the sun came out and we headed to the Art Center for some shade to finish up a few last ideas we had in mind. Again, for the architecture, we utilized the front of the building and its clean white backdrop for Henry’s sharp suit. LinkedIn profile photo? Check. For someone who said in their Questionnaire that he thought he had terrible hair and a terrible smile, I think Henry’s done just fine!
At first, Henry wasn’t sure he wanted to incorporate his track & field participation, but after we knocked out a few images, he was glad he brought the uniform and shoes along. As a parent, I’m always interested to hear how students get involved or find what they’re good at….Henry explored baseball and football for a time and COVID shut down 7th grade track & field, but he gave Cross Country a try in the fall of his 8th grade year and then track in the spring and voila! He’d found it. Cross Country fuels his 400 & 800 events in Track alongside his other academic pursuits of Student Leadership (he’ll be leading his class alongside his cousin in their senior year).
Henry & Jen - Thank you so much for entrusting this special time in your life to me and my camera! It truly has been an honor and pleasure serving you and your family and I look forward to cheering Henry on throughout all his pursuits this year & beyond!
All the best,
Carrie
