Morgan : Class of 2025

Hard to believe that we’re here, in Des Moines, with this Michigan-based family again! Last summer, you met Tori in Chicago , and this summer, her sister, Morgan, was available to meet me in Des Moines for her senior photos! I always love getting a hug from these ladies - Morgan’s mom Laura gives the best hugs! We started near the Des Moines River and the Lauridsen Skateboard Park. Morgan is multi-talented in athletics covering football, wrestling, swimming, softball and skateboarding and we documented all of it! I’ve never photographed at the Skateboard Park where they’ve hosted the Olympic Trials, but we sure had a fun time coming up with interesting compositions that made my heart so happy while we were there.

Morgan is graduating from Holland High School’s program where your senior year is technically a first year of a Community College degree and you have a bonus senior 5th year to finish the CC degree. That’s why you see the H and the D on her graduation stole with her cap!

After using the Science Center’s water feature, we headed up to the parking garage for a skyline view of downtown…

Our last location was down by Grey’s Lake’s dock and I love the challenge of using a familiar location in a new and different way to keep things interesting not just for me, but so that each senior has one-of-a-kind imagery to go home happy.

Morgan - Hard to believe that I’ve had the honor and fun of photographing you since you were, what, 5 years old? Every time I photograph you, I walk away so encouraged and hopeful. Encouraged that it is possible to maintain a great relationship with your mom through the rocky teen years and hopeful that it’s possible for me and my own children. Your parents love each other & you and your sisters so well and I love how often you laugh together. That must be your family’s secret sauce: laughter. Keep it up - you’re doing great and you’re going to do amazing things.

All the best,

Carrie
