Laura + Her Girls : Mother's Day Mini

I first photographed this family TEN YEARS AGO when their youngest was new. How in the world did she turn 10 already?! And, ten years ago, we had their first family session, here at Waterworks among all the blooming trees. Have I mentioned that this spring has been cold!? There were a whopping TWO trees blooming on this particular weekend and we made the most of the one unoccupied by another photographer. :)

In the middle of our time together, from behind the camera, I said, “I’m sure going to miss you, Laura.” And we both got a little teary. Laura, Billy & their tribe of Little Women (Torie, Morgan, Violet & Tess) are heading “back home” to Michigan and we’ve already made plans for Torie’s senior photo shoot in Chicago next summer so that it’s not a “goodbye”, it’s a “See you later”. Oh, my heart, this family is so very special to me.

Laura : Any respiratory therapist who works through a pandemic and wants to continue serving in the medical field deserves free mani/pedis and massages for at least 5 years straight. And catered dinners so you don’t have to think about those pesky decisions. And in the midst of it all, you and Billy have raised 4 incredible ladies who laugh loud with mouths wide open-so vivacious and full of life, and thankfully, love for each other.

Well done, friend. So, SO well done,

Carrie
