Rachel + Jody

I am truly blessed by the clients that I have because they inevitably turn into friends. I photographed Emily + Jon's wedding last year, so you can imagine how excited I was to learn that Jody had popped the question to Emily's sister, Rachel, this year! I ran into Rachel at a church event while she was visiting her sister & parents, got to gush over the ring Jody picked out for her, and hear all about the plans they're making together. 

While studying at University of Iowa, Rachel & Jody met at a mutual friend's shin-dig and things took their natural course to becoming official.  Now successful graduates, living in Indianapolis, "Indy" as they call it, and working in sports-Jody for the Indianapolis Colts and Rachel for Sports Authority-they enjoy putting their degrees to use, together. Now, they're planning a destination wedding to a gorgeous island locale and have asked me to photograph their engagement and state-side reception. 

We started their engagement session at Grey's Lake and caught up like old friends almost as much as we actually took photos. :)

Jody & Rachel changed outfits and we used another area of the park for different scenery and feel. 

We headed downtown after an outfit change and enjoyed the view from the state capitol.

Rachel + Jody: It was such a pleasure photographing you and hanging out with you! I love it when I feel like an old friend with a fancy camera. Watching you two love on each other, thoroughly enjoy each other's company, I can only imagine how the celebration is going to go on your island destination. I also can't wait till I get to document your reception next year! Best of luck in the planning process and logistics.
