Ava : 4 Years Mini Session

What a spitfire Ava is! We snuck in a quick mini session before I dim the lights on Carrie Krupke Photography till next summer (more info on that in a future post). We had just 20 minutes to spare and nabbed as many smiles as we possibly could in that timeframe.

Happy 4th Birthday Ms. Ava!!

Blessings on the remainder of your summer and the upcoming school year!

This family has gently, but seemingly swiftly, come onto our family's radar for a myriad of reasons. First, Chris is Gerard's Principal, then I had the privilege of photographing their family, their daughter attended the same preschool as our children, and now, this fall, Chris will be my Principal as I begin this Digital Photography class at NHS. Beth has been such an incredible resource for me in developing how I want the culture of my class to develop, what order to teach certain concepts...the list goes on and on. Gerard & I admire who they are as educators, parents and how they love as each other's "lobsters" as Beth would say.

But I digress-here are their downtown photos that were a blast to shoot:

For a change of scenery, we headed to the opposite side of downtown and I love this family's playfulness. I can only imagine the antics that occur within their home's four walls!

Like I said, folks, the antics...;)

Chris + Beth: Thank you for who you are as a couple, as a family, as educators and most importantly, as friends. Thank you for your flexibility in scheduling and for how committed you are to making awesome photographic ideas come to life.

Blessings,

Carrie

You meet Alison and immediately understand why she is an incredible Kindergarten educator. Oh, the patience! Oh, the sweetness and gentleness! And oh, my goodness, how much her children look like her! You first met Ms. Molly in December and she's now a proud owner of all the rolls that come with being 6 months. Big bro Charlie is a great protector of her and willingly shared toys to help our session go off without a hitch despite the rainy morning on which we found ourselves.

Enjoy!

We added Rob to the mix and tickles ensued:

Oh my golly, Ms. Molly!

A few of Charlie and Molly together again:

Ali + Rob: Thank you so much for trusting your family memories to me! Your children are adorable and they did great in front of the camera. Way to go parents!!

See you soon,

Carrie

Every year they come back for more! Sean & Miriam were my first paying clients and I cannot believe that their oldest will be a junior this fall! HOW?! Miriam has faithfully been by our family's side when we needed helping hands the most and this photo session felt particularly special because Miriam recently lost her Mom. For those reasons and more, I wanted to focus mainly on Miriam and Sean-he's always so good to me, giving me great candid moments and loving on Miriam in sweet ways. We visited with each other more than we photographed and by the time I was driving home, I felt like my heart had been encouraged and uplifted with their sense of humor and wisdom in this season of their lives. Like a spur-of-the-moment counseling session!

See what I mean?

Joe has lost most of his baby chub and even Gerard commented on how much he's grown and how old he looks!

Thank you guys for always supporting me in this business, but more importantly, helping our family when we needed it the most. I'm so thankful that our kids love you and for your long-suffering with Laidy's stubbornness in not putting her face in the water. We'll get it this year, I can feeeeeeeel it!

God bless you!

Carrie

Meet our new neighbors! (Or at least, down the street neighbors!) Gary & Anne welcomed us warmly to the neighborhood with freshly baked cookie bars the day we moved in and they were such a welcome treat to share with our moving crew! An added bonus is that Gerard & I both got to teach Mariah and we have so enjoyed watching her grow and develop into a future music educator. What a lovely family and I so enjoyed getting to spend time with them!

Craziest part is that Mariah is getting ready for her senior recital at Evangel University and needed headshots for her program and advertising posters. (What?!) I was happy to oblige.

Fun fact: if you're out on the Ragbrai Trail this summer, look for Gary and lend him a shower and a nice place to lay his head! He's headed out for the whole trip this year and his girls will be cheering him on as he bikes river to river.

So fun to see you guys! Best of luck on the trail, Gary! I hope you are spared the uncomfortable side effects that we discussed as you spend a week on a bike seat! ;) You've got an outstanding cheer squad backing you up and it sounds like you're going to have great company along the way. Be safe and come back in one piece!! And Ms. Mariah-best of everything as you enter your SENIOR YEAR!!

Blessings,

Carrie
